Außer den Patientinnen sind oft auch Ärzt_innen und Apotheker_innen verunsichert, ob ein Medikament in diesen sensiblen Zeiträumen angewendet werden kann. Diese App bietet Informationen zu mehr als 400 Wirkstoffen und eine Einschätzung zu deren Sicherheit und möglichen Risiken in Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit.
Ein Ampelsystem erleichtert die Beurteilung der Sicherheit einzelner Arzneimittel. 
Die Embryotox-App funktioniert auch im Offline-Betrieb/Flugmodus - zur Nutzung direkt am Krankenbett oder an Orten, wo keine Netzverbindung verfügbar ist.
Embryotox is intended for medical professionals who need information about medicines for pregnancy and lactation. In addition to the patients, doctors and pharmacists are often unsure whether a drug can be used during these sensitive periods.
